SURFACE PREPARATION
We use Sandblasting and Steel Grit Recovery Systems: The staple for cost effective tank interior preparation. Sandblasting and Steel grit is highly productive and can be reclaimed and recycled; greatly reducing preparation and disposal costs.
Mineral abrasives: From six-sack pot to six-ton bulk pots these abrasives continue to provide quality abrasive-blasted substrates.
Amex/Accustrip Systems: Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is used as an abrasive for a variety of cleaning and removal operations too sensitive for sand and safer than chemicals.
Blastrac Equipment: Dust free, self-contained floor machine for surface preparation of concrete floors and steel tank bottoms.
Vacuum Power Tools: The tools are used for containing the dust during lead abatement, for controlling dust in sensitive areas and for reducing employee exposure to air-borne particles. Sanders, grinders, needle guns, Scarifiers, crack routers and concrete saws are a few of the tools that meet this criteria.
ULTRA-HIGH PRESSURE WASHING
With capabilities to 40,000 psi. Coatings Unlimited has been providing a variety of ultra high pressure water cleaning procedures for their customers. Removal of rust scale and thick film coatings now can be performed without conventional abrasive and associated with abrasive blasting. Many projects are now specifying ultra high-pressure pastes an environmentally friendly means of performing various lead abatement projects. With state of the art water filters, surface preparation filters, surface preparation debris can be reduced to low levels and in turn reduce the costs associated with hazardous waste disposal. Experienced Coatings Unlimited pressure water cleaning crews receive specific training and equipment to perform these projects safely.Weather you need storage tanks, process vessels or piping systems relined Coatings Unlimited has the experience and equipment to meet these needs. Airless spray, plural-component equipment, HVLP, and hand-lay up of reinforced tank and containment structures are just a few of our application methods. Once the task is refined, our team will designate the proper sequence of events and complete them within your designated timeframe.
CONCRETE PROTECTION
It is the most widely used building material in the world. It is relatively inexpensive. It is used in everything from floors and walls, to containment areas, tanks and bridges. Even with all of the latitude you can also say it is not chemical resistant. It corrodes. And it is going to crack. We have many coating systems for protecting your concrete structures. Whether the concrete structure is old or new we have the knowledge, equipment and systems to protect it or restore it.
We are pleased to share with you some of the knowledge we have gained during our fifty years of experience. The result is excellent quality without sacrificing SAFETY.
CONCRETE PROTECTION Continued
Thin film systems for any of the following concrete applications are available: low track or low abrasion areas, fiberglass reinforced systems for secondary containment and aggressive chemical attack, non-skids for safety, power troweled overlays, hand troweled toppings, self-leveling systems, and ESD systems for sensitive electronics applications are just an overview of the chapters in our concrete library.
CONTAINMENT & RIGGING
Often the hardest part of a paint job isn't doing the work; it's safely and knowledgeably getting to the work. We have specialized rigging and containment equipment to protect the worker and public. Our structural design and air-movement requirements are all engineered into the design and construction of each of these special projects.
SAFETY SUPPORT
OSHA safety standards require that only trained personnel perform fire watch and confined space attendant duties. Coatings Unlimited is able to provide properly trained personnel to perform these tasks. This allows your employees to apply their talents to what they do best; the craft in which they were trained and for which you pay them.
CONFINED SPACE ATTENDANT
Entry into Permit Required Confined Spaces requires that at least one attendant be stationed outside the permit space for the duration of entry operations. The employer shall ensure that each attendant knows the hazards that my be faced during entry, continuously maintains an accurate count of authorized entrants in the permit space, and communicates with authorized entrants as necessary to monitor entrant status. In addition, attendants must monitor activities inside and outside the space to determine if it is safe for entrants to remain in the space, order the entrants to evacuate the permit space if hazardous conditions develop and summon rescue and other emergency services as soon as the attendant determines that authorized entrants may need assistance to escape from the permit space hazards.
